About VMR Masig – Yorke Island
VMR Masig operates from Yorke Island, in the north eastern part of the Torres Straits.
We do not maintain a radio watch.
For assistance, VTS in partnership with other Squadrons maintain a 24 hour listening watch on VHF Channel 16.
If in phone range the Qld Police Service should be your first point of contact.
Masters should be advised that a fee applies to operations that are not of a life threatening nature
Operational Information
VMR Yorke Island operates a 7M Inflatable vessel, with a range of approximately 160 nautical miles.
This vessel is equipped with VHF radio only.
Launch time is approximately 1 hour from Yorke Island.
